JBW Consulting Engineers is a consulting engineering firm with locations in Duluth/Hermantown, MN, Gillette, WY, and Sheridan, WY that provides design and engineering services for clients in the industrial, energy, and infrastructure sectors across North America. We are currently searching for a Structural Engineering Intern to join our team. Primary focal points for this position include assisting with engineering calculations to support design work as well as creating and reviewing technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software while following JBW's quality control methods.

Responsibilities
This position will work on project teams involved with structural engineering and related technical assignments. Assignments may include structural design and analysis, preparation of plans and specifications, report writing, cost estimating, and construction inspection/observation. The work will primarily be for industrial processing facilities including wood products facilities, oil and gas facilities, mining facilities, and other heavy industrial facilities. The position may require short-term, out-of-town work assignments. All applicants should include transcripts with their application.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
3.0/4.0 grade-point average
At least 2 semesters of physics and 3 semesters of mathematics
Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients
Strong technical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness
Willingness to travel for field work up to 20%
Legal authorization to work in the United States without need for sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
3.5/4.0 grade-point average
Familiarity with AutoCAD, MathCAD, and Excel
Completion of at least one semester of upper division (junior/senior level) engineering coursework
