JBW was retained to provide machine design and modeling services for an OSB mill former upgrade/retrofit. The project included the installation of several former rollers, drive systems, custom machinery, and machine support structure for the processing of a new product line.
Field verification and site measurements were required to identify the critical equipment and area constraints. Drawings of the new and existing equipment were collected from equipment manufacturers, contractors, and the plant maintenance staff. With this information, a complete 3D model, machine assembly drawings, BOM, fabrication drawings, and installation documents were generated.
JBW also provided construction administration for this project. This involved several days during the outage to assist the mechanical installers with the assembly and installation of the system. JBW recorded detailed notes documenting the installation process, questions, and recommendations for future projects.
